KODE Contemporary: 1980-2015

A rich selection of notable Norwegian and international artists are represented in KODE’s collection of art from 1980 to today.

Echoing the great breadth of contemporary art, the exhibition presents art media such as photo, sculpture, video, land art, painting and installation. Here you can be transported from the expressive to the meditative, from the 1980s and ‘90s to challenging works from the new millennium. Experience Hilde Vemren’s iconic Grace Jones from 1982, or Gardar Eide Einarsson’s lightinstallation Caligula from 2010. Other highlights are works by, among others, Bjarne Melgaard, Fabrice Hyber, Odd Nerdrum, Heidi Kennedy Skjerve, Lotte Konow-Lund and Jan Groth.

The exhibitions in KODE 2 will remain closed from March through November 2017 due to maintenance work. The building’s shop and café are open throughout the entire period.
